Who this is for

  • You're planning a home health agency, nurse registry or homemaker-companion business
  • You started an application and got stuck, or received an omission letter
  • You're buying an agency, adding counties or services, or changing license type
  • Your license renewal is coming up

What we do

Validation memo

Before you spend on a company, an office or a policy manual, we check your plan in writing: which license fits the services you want to offer, who can serve as administrator and in other required roles, what it costs to open and run, the risks we see, and a realistic timeline. You approve it in your portal, and everything after follows from it.

Home health agency license

For agencies that provide skilled services such as nursing and therapy, or home health aide and personal care services.

  • Application and attachments prepared and filed
  • Background screening coordinated
  • Policies written for your services
  • Answers to AHCA's letters
  • Licensure survey preparation

Nurse registry license

For businesses that refer independent nurses, certified nursing assistants and home health aides to patients.

  • Application and policies
  • A system for each contractor's license, screening and file
  • Contractor credential checks

Homemaker & companion registration

For non-medical help at home: companionship, light housekeeping, errands and meals.

  • Registration filed
  • Client record system
  • Clear guidance on what this registration does not allow, including hands-on personal care

Changes of ownership, expansion and conversion

Buying or selling an agency, adding counties or services, or moving to a different license type.

  • Change-of-ownership filings, on time
  • New county and service additions
  • License type conversions

License renewal

We track your renewal window and file in it, so there's never a gap in your license.

Florida rules we watch for you

You have 21 days to send what's missing. If you don't, the application is withdrawn and the fee is forfeited. s. 408.806(3)(b), F.S.

A change of ownership must be reported to AHCA at least 60 days before it takes effect. s. 408.807, F.S.

Renewal applications must reach AHCA between 120 and 60 days before the license expires. s. 408.806(2)(a), F.S.

Questions

What's the difference between a home health agency and a nurse registry?

A home health agency employs or contracts staff and directs patient care itself. A nurse registry refers independent nurses and aides to patients, who work as contractors. Each has different rules, costs and liability — your validation memo explains which fits your plan.

Can I start advertising while my application is pending?

No. You can prepare, but services can't be offered or advertised until the license is issued. Our launch package is ready to go the day it is.

I already applied and got an omission letter. Can you help?

Yes. Send it to us right away — the 21-day clock started on the date of AHCA's request. We'll draft an item-by-item response for your approval.

Do I need accreditation?

It isn't required for a Florida license. Some agencies choose accreditation for Medicare or payer reasons, and accredited agencies may ask AHCA to accept their accreditation survey. Our consultant is an ACHC Certified Consultant and can tell you whether it makes sense for you.
